Privacy Policy

Occrr (“we”, “us”) is a dating service that runs inside Telegram and as a web app. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. Occrr is only for adults aged 18 and over.
What we collect
- Your account details: if you use Telegram, your Telegram user ID, username and language; if you sign in with Google, your Google account ID, email address and first name.
- Phone verification: when you share your phone number through Telegram, we keep only a one-way fingerprint (a hash) of it to stop duplicate accounts. We do not store or display the number itself.
- Your profile: name, date of birth (only your age is shown), gender, who you want to meet, city, bio and photos.
- Location: the approximate coordinates of the city you choose, used to show distances. We do not track your device's GPS location.
- Activity: likes, passes, matches, blocks and reports, and when you were last active.
- Messages you send to your matches in the app.
- Verification selfies, if you choose to get verified. These are seen only by our moderators.
- Purchases: what you bought, the amount and the payment reference. Payments are handled by Razorpay (on the website and app) or Telegram (Stars). We never see your full card, UPI or bank details.
- Notifications: if you turn on notifications in the browser or installed app, the address your browser gives us for delivering them. Turning notifications off or logging out removes it.
- Technical information: error reports, your browser or device type, and messages you send to our support.
How we use it
- To create your profile and show it to people whose preferences match yours.
- To create matches, deliver messages and send you notifications through our Telegram bot.
- To keep the service safe: verifying accounts, reviewing reports, and removing fake profiles, scams and people under 18.
- To provide the purchases you make and handle refunds.
- To fix problems and improve Occrr.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising by other companies.
What other people can see
Other users can see your first name, age, city and approximate distance, bio, photos and verification badge. Your phone number, Telegram username, exact date of birth and messages to other people are never shown.
Where your information is stored
Profile and activity data is stored in a database hosted by Supabase in Mumbai, India. Photos are stored on Telegram's servers. The app runs on Cloudflare. These providers process data on our behalf.
How long we keep it
- Passes are deleted after about 45 days, so profiles you passed on can appear again.
- Chat messages are deleted after about 180 days.
- Encrypted backups of the database are kept for up to 14 days so we can recover from mistakes or outages.
- Error reports are deleted after 30 to 90 days.
- When you delete your account, we delete your profile, photos, likes and matches. If you made purchases, we keep a minimal payment record as required for accounting, with your profile details removed.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile or hide it from Discover at any time in the app.
- Delete your account yourself at any time: Profile → Delete my account. This removes your profile, photos, likes, matches and chats straight away.
- Ask for a copy of your information or a correction by messaging @Occrr_bot.
- Withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account.
- Raise a complaint (grievance) with us through @Occrr_bot. We aim to reply within 7 days.
Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections, access controls and secret keys that only our servers hold. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong Telegram password and two-step verification.
Children
Occrr is not for anyone under 18. We remove accounts that appear to belong to minors. Report one from their profile, or tell us through @Occrr_bot.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app or through our bot before the change takes effect.
